Marion WEINSPACH

General Coordinator, Vice Chair of the Board: Business Development and Outreach

Marion holds a master's degree in political science from the Institut d'études politiques de Paris and two master's degrees in French literature and education from Paris-XIII. She has been teaching adults since 2006.

Her experiences in Canada and abroad has led her to work with professionals in various fields who already had an intermediate level of French. She has seen how much these professionals appreciate and need training that meets their career objectives in order to progress and develop their Francophone identity. Marion is very sensitive to the issues of immigration and the socio-professional integration of immigrants.

In her professional life, Marion Weinspach has often had to face challenges that have required both adaptability and initiative. A true leader of the Lefep coop project, she has a strong sense of initiative and a good strategic vision that allows her to effectively identify needs at each stage of development and to quickly find the necessary partners. Since the beginning, she has been able to identify priorities and closely plan activities to ensure optimal development of the project.

Luc Constantin

Teacher and Board Secretary. Passionate about teaching
Luc Constantin holds a master's degree in modern languages from the Sorbonne-Nouvelle (Paris-III) and a bachelor's degree in ethnology from the University of Nanterre (Paris-X). He has worked in several fields, all related to writing.

In Switzerland, his country of origin, he worked as a researcher and science writer for the Swiss National Science Foundation for almost ten years. In this capacity, he has given lectures in France, Italy and Switzerland, notably on vernacular architecture. In addition to numerous scientific articles published in these three countries, he has collaborated on large-scale exhibitions in Europe. At the same time, he has led a career as a theater producer which has allowed him to work with directors on interpretation and oral production techniques, which are assets in teaching French.

He has been teaching French as a second language for more than 15 years. He is perfectly aware of the problems of francization within Quebec companies and has been with Lefep for the past four years. He enjoys sharing his cultural and linguistic knowledge, because he is convinced that a language is learned not only through its vocabulary and grammar, but also through the culture it conveys.

  • Excellent interpersonal skill
  • Original and effective oral learning techniques

Marianne Leblanc-Dubois

Teacher

Sandra has been teaching adult immigrants since 2010.  She also uses the knowledge she acquired as a translator in various fields to train Lefep Coop students in specialized French.

Born in Spain, she grew up in Madrid and has also lived in Côte d'Ivoire, France, and Canada (Ontario). She is familiar with the  challenges that immigrants face.

Her mastery of Spanish and English, in addition to her mother tongue French, is a valuable tool in helping students build bridges between French and their mother tongue.

Sandra is committed to helping each and every student learn French at their own pace and succeed.

Simon Bourassa-Larouche

Teacher

A graduate in translation and languages, he has been working in the field of translation and French teaching for over five years.

Born in Montreal, Simon has lived in this beautiful city all his life. A long trip to Central America opened his eyes to the world and the richness of other cultures. Language learning has always been a passion for him.

Teaching French as a second language stimulates him a lot because it allows him to forge ties with people of all origins. The feeling of gratitude he feels when he helps someone integrate and realize his aspirations is unparalleled and this is what motivates him to continue in this field.

OUR MISSION

Lefep coop is a non-profit worker cooperative with two objectives:

Our main objective is to support immigrant professionals in their socio-professional integration in Quebec by preparing them for the OQLF exam.   We provide French courses tailored to the specific needs of their profession. Lefep coop supports English-speaking Canadians and immigrants/allophones by enabling them to acquire advanced and specialized French in line with their professional objectives and career goals. To the best of our ability, we want to participate in their successful integration into Quebec society.

Lefep coop also wishes to participate in the strengthening of French as a working language in businesses, and thus allow Canadians and employers to benefit from the advantages of a complete mastery of the French language. Our goal is to contribute to the dynamism of the Canadian economy in essential and growing socio-professional sectors.

OUR POSITIONING

Lefep wishes to involve specialized French learning from the very beginning of the immigrant integration process in order to counter exclusion, professional de-skilling and discrimination. Lefep believes that a successful professional integration path is the key to encouraging immigrants to participate and contribute fully and in the long term to their host society.

Our values

Lefep believes that a diverse, inclusive society, which ensures that everyone has a chance, is a stronger society. This is why the values underlying its activities are diversity, inclusion and equality.
